The Battleship U.S.S. New Jersey, BB-62
The Decks

These photos are as shot; no color correction or tinting, etc. I used Fujicrhome slide film at about an ASA of 100.

This beautiful day offered me a great opportunity to walk about the decks with my new Cannon FT-QL SLR camera. Nationally known photographer Neil Lifer went ashore with me to help me buy the camera at the base PX. I still have the camera and used it while studying photography at USC and now professionally in my graphic design work.

Yours truly is responsible for painting the ribbons on the ship's sides. Prior to entering the Navy I worked as a painter having gone through the Painters and Decorators Union Apprenticeship program at Los Angeles Trade Techinical College.
